Antarctic Adventure & Crossing the Circle
December 2024 - January 2025
Setting sail from Ushuaia, Argentina on December 17th, we ventured to the Falklands Islands and then to the majestic island of South Georgia (see the previous gallery). Sailing south from South Georgia we visited Elephant Island and pushed south to the Antarctic Peninsula. This gallery contains photos from the Antarctic portion of our amazing adventure. Exploring the region by ship, zodiacs, shore landings and from the air; we worked our way south along the Peninsula until we crossed the Antarctic Circle. We worked our way back up the Peninsula before heading to sea, crossing the infamous Drake Passage and returning to Ushuaia on 7 January. We were captivated by the rugged beauty of the landscape and the incredible wildlife that thrives in this region. The pristine, barren wilderness of rock, snow, ice, and water leaves an impression on one's soul. It leaves you wanting more.
